Yuanguang Temple is located at the foot of Yushan Mountain, nestled among green hills. The environment is peaceful and scenic, harmonizing beautifully with the surrounding natural landscape. At the same time, Yuanguang Temple is dedicated to preserving and promoting Buddhist culture, while actively engaging in social welfare activities.
Here, people can experience the compassion and wisdom of Buddhism, finding inner peace and tranquility. Yuanguang Temple is also a sanctuary for the soul. Here, one can escape the hustle and bustle of the world, set aside worldly distractions, and quietly listen to the voice within. Whether you are a devotee seeking spiritual support or a visitor yearning for tranquility, everyone can find their own pure land at Yuanguang Temple.
Although our temple is not an ancient monastery with a long history, its architecture still follows the traditional southern style. Majestic and solemn, with bell and drum towers standing tall on both sides, it is truly magnificent. Our temple upholds the principle of religious engagement with society, serving the community, giving back to the faith of our devotees, and making more positive contributions. We sincerely welcome your guidance.
White walls with green tiles, pure white colonnades, simple and unadorned without excessive decoration, blending with the distant green mountains. This is the main venue for sutra recitation and Dharma assemblies, built in 1983.
Earth, a dwelling place, is one of the four great elements that can bear all things. All towering mountains and myriad things exist on earth, symbolizing the merit of Ksitigarbha Bodhisattva, who can bear all difficult practices for all sentient beings.
Avalokitesvara Bodhisattva, whose original vow is to save sentient beings with compassion. When beings in difficulty recite the Bodhisattva's name, the Bodhisattva immediately perceives their voices and comes to rescue them, hence the name Avalokitesvara (Observer of the World's Sounds).
